Southampton University Symphony Orchestra

Pre-Term 2008

Whether you are involved in the orchestra or not, this years concert will be a fantastic end to a solid weeks work.

Friday 26th September 7.30pm Turner Sims Concert Hall, Southampton

Wagner - Overture, Rienze : David Owen Norris - Piano Concerto : Berlioz - Symphonie Fantastique

Pre-term (21st – 27th September) is a week of music and socialising before Freshers’ week.  It is for anyone starting university in October who plays an orchestral instrument, and is a good way to get to know other Freshers and current second and third years from various music societies.  During the day, everyone plays together in the orchestra, then in the evening we go out and have fun in Southampton. We put on a concert at the end of week, so get involved and bring your parents to the concert!

This year we will be playing Berlioz Symphony Fantastique, David Owen Norris Piano Concerto performed by the man himself, and a mystery piece!

Ask any of the current members of the orchestra and they will tell you of the great start to uni-life pre term gives you. You get to know every one in the orchestra, and you come away with a group of friends before you even get to freshers week! Email Kat, or check the facebook group! Search for SUSO Preterm 2008.
